WEA Call to Action!!
|
On Friday, August 14, over 100 cars belonging to the members of the WEA formed a rolling caravan to show our disgust over the District's plan to lay off/furlough approximately 50 members of the union. Administration is backing down from a small number of parents who do not wish to pay for remote learning during the Pandemic at the Johnson Early Educational Center and have threatened to pull their students out if they don't receive a discount. Even though both Superintendent Whipple and Asst. Superintendent Smith stated that they could probably find a way to pay the 50 members, Dr. Whipple stated that they were not necessary, and that they would have to just find something for them to do during the remote period. The WEA takes exception to those statements, thus the caravan, which was extremely successful. Dr. Whipple cleared the central office unexpectedly!!!!
WEA members rally in support of the Randolph Teachers Association. Thanks to all of our WEA members who came out and held signs in Randolph!
