Dear Members,
Do you have unused gift cards sitting in your wallet? Will you be willing to donate a lottery ticket to a worthwhile cause? Do you want to inspire and support two graduating seniors who are pursuing a career in education? If so, please continue to read about how you can impact the lives of two deserving students. The WEA's next fundraising event will be at the Weymouth High School Craft Fair on December 6th. We are asking members to donate unwanted gift cards and/or lottery tickets that will be used to create "raffle wreaths." With these donations, visitors can enter a raffle to win a wreath. Your contribution will not only help increase the scholarship fund, it will bring a smile to the winner's face. If you are donating a gift card, be sure to write its value on the card. Send your gift card and/or lottery tickets through interoffice mail to Gerri Renni at the WEA office, or to myself, Ydana Chella, at Murphy School. Please include your name and school so you can be recognized in the next Focal Point. This event can not be funded without your support. All donations are sincerely appreciated. If you have any questions or would be interested in volunteering, please contact me through the Outlook site. Below, please see a description of the WEA Scholarship Fund. Each year, the WEA raises money to award two graduating seniors who are entering the field of education. Currently, they are each awarded a $250.00 scholarship. We are looking to increase each scholarship as it will better meet the students' academic needs. Through a variety of fundraising events, both within the membership and in the community, we are beginning to achieve this goal. Respectfully, Ydana Chella WEA President Comments are closed.
