Candidates for vice president (2 Candidates)
Joni Cederholm - Johnson
Over the last 20 years, I have worked at the Johnson Early Childhood Center in many capacities. First as a 1/1 sped para/ESP, also with, Sped Kindergarten, full day Pre-K classrooms and at the Weymouth Child Family Community Center, assisting the coordinator and staff with facilitating all aspects of the program and engaging with caregivers and families. I also attended monthly meetings in conjunction with the Weymouth Child Family Community Engagement Grant. Currently I work as the clerical Para/ESP in the main office of JECC. I shared many afternoons working consistently for 6 years, with an Autistic student and his family, at his home. I have been a life long resident of Weymouth, attending Weymouth Public Schools and a graduate of Weymouth North High. My husband and I previously owned our own business here in Weymouth, and our 2 children, Christian and Kathryn attended Weymouth Public Schools and graduated from Weymouth High. Personally, throughout their school years, I was President of Murphy School Parent Council, Chair of Murphy School, School Base Management and Murphy School Plant and Grounds. I also was part of 2 playground committees, Kids Landing at Tufts Library and Murphy School Playground. My dedication, commitment and record of attendance with the schools, students, parents, WEA and WPS staff show throughout my many years of employment and as a Weymouth Resident. I now ask WEA members for your vote as the Vice President of WEA.
Michael S. Murphy, Ed.D - Weymouth High School
I am running this year for Vice-President because I believe I can make a difference in the many issues that face the teachers, para-professionals, and administrators in the Weymouth Educators Association. I bring to you the necessary experience to move this association forward, and plan to preserve, negotiate, and protect the rights our predecessors fought for over the years. With another change in leadership right around the corner, we need proven people who will work with them to make sure our contract is protected and to improve education for the benefit of staff and students.
Please consider me on May 3rd as your next Vice-President.
