Last night, the 2015-2018 Unit A contract was ratified by the School Committee. I am pleased that we can now move forward and enjoy a summer without contract negotiations. Also, I am pleased to announce that our retro checks are tentatively scheduled to be dispersed on July 7, 2016. Please check your paycheck/bank account to confirm this.
I must reiterate, this date is tentative.
All financial questions must be submitted to Administration directly. Per the 2015-2018 contract, retirees and members with perfect attendance will receive additional financial benefits. They read as follows:
If a teacher has no sick absences in a given school year, the teacher will receive a payment of $250 in a lump sum payable on or before the first pay period in December of the following school year.
F: Sick Leave Buy Back
Upon death while actively employed by the Weymouth Public School or upon resignation for the purpose of retirement within 12 months from the Weymouth Public Schools a member is entitled to thirty dollars ($30) per accumulated sick day up to a maximum of $4,000.
